The website that I chose was PetaPixel.com. Peta Pixel was established in the spring of 2009. It includes tutorials, archives, and other various news articles relating to photography. Articles range from photography tech reviews to stories of Japan's first female photojournalist. The most recent as well as trending articles are neatly presented on the website's home page. They also have a twice weekly podcast. The podcast covers news, opinions, humor, and real-world experience. You can subscribe to the PetaPixel mailing list to receive emails about new articles and the most recent podcast. You can also find PetaPixel on Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus. Their archives page is very useful to filter and sort articles to find exactly what you want. You can filter articles by time or by topic. The equipment page shows articles about any product that goes into the making of photos or any product that can be used by a photographer. The tutorials page has guides, tips, walkthroughs, and tutorials. Peta Pixel is a great, simple website with informative and entertaining articles about photography. I would recommend this site, and rate it 5 out of five stars.
An article that I found interesting on PetaPixel was "This Japanese Machine Gun Camera was Used in World War II" by Michael Zhang. It is about a camera in the shape of a Japanese machine gun that was used during the World War II era. It is called the Konishoruko Rokuoh-Sha Type 89. It recently was found on eBay, for $4,499. The camera was supposedly used for military training exercises, and for pilots to confirm kills. The manufacturer, Konishoruko, is now known as Konica Minolta. According to the eBay seller, the camera is still in working condition.
